Trainee officer and rating management
Trainee development is an integral part of our long term manning policy and Bibby International Services welcomes the opportunity of assisting Clients in this field.
Bibby International Services currently manages and administers trainee development for a number of client companies and our staff are dedicated to meeting both statutory and specific company requirements.
The investment Clients make in this area is fully appreciated and Bibby International Services offers complete involvement with the progress and wellbeing of Trainees from the outset through to the conclusion of their programmes.
Sponsored Trainees identify solely with the Client from enrolment and this ethos is reinforced by being supplied, where appropriate, with company specific badges/ties for uniform and branded working gear.
Reports from College and following Sea Phases are reviewed and this involvement is supported by regular visits to the Trainees whilst at College. Such an approach combines to assist in creating a sense of loyalty and belonging which is proven to reduce the turnover of Trainees, Ratings and Junior Officers. This in turn ensures greater lasting commitment for both the Trainees and Clients alike and as a natural extension of this process we therefore consider it essential for the sponsoring company to be informed throughout the training period.
Our Trainee development functions include the following:
- Selection, recruitment and interview of Deck, Engineer and ETO Trainees according to Client requirements
- Full responsibility for each Trainees development needs whilst attending a recognised Nautical College
- Full responsibility for each Trainees development needs whilst undertaking their Sea Phases
- Production of annual training budget costs and management of budgets
- Administration of the UK Government SMarT scheme as an accredited Training Provider
- Capacity to accommodate a variable intake from Deck, Engineering and ETO disciplines
- Potential to accommodate Cadets throughout our Clients' fleets
