Safety policy
BIS is totally committed to a policy of preventing the risk of personal injury and occupational disease to all seafarers employed and/or deployed by the company. In support of this policy, the company rigorously promotes policies and practices to:-
- Control the risk of any possible work related injury and/or illness by conducting regular assessment(s) to develop and maintain a safer working environment;
- Co-operate with Maritime organisations and regulating bodies to ensure compliance with the most up to date legislation, particularly in respect to Health and Safety requirements;
- Ensure all employees conform to the highest standards of personal Health and Safety awareness, this will be emphasised through training programmes and individual responsibilities;
The on board Safety culture adopted by the Company promotes:-
- Lost time prevention
- A proactive philosophy
- Accident reporting, investigation, review, follow-up, close out and analysis
- On board safety training
- Risk Assessments
